Remicade making stricture worse?

Ok.  You probably think I'm crazy.....  I have been receiving Remicade for almost 3 years.  It has truly been a blessing, with some draw-backs.  However, for the past few months, every time I get my infusion, I have a horrible time going to the bathroom!  It's to the point where I almost feel BETTER right before my next infusion! rolleyes    Can Remicade makes strictures worse, or am I just losing it??!!  (which wouldn't be too hard, lol!)  Blessings, Julie smilewinkgrin

Hi Julie not sure about that but I think some have mentioned that it might cause scarring when healing things certainly worth mentioning to your Dr. and if you feel better without it perhaps that's what is happening.. lol gail

I have heard that if you have the stricturing type of Crohns that Remicade can cause rapid healing and create more scar tissue. Thats one reason my GI doesn't want me on it, I already have problems with adhesions and scar tissue. I agree you should probably talk to your doc about this.

Thank you so much for the replies. My last appointment I had mentioned it to my GI. He said he had never heard of this before, but "theoretically it could be possible." I left his office feeling stumped.....
