Your heartburn sounds horrible, Ise, I'm so sorry!
I remember other posts on here over the years discussing how long Prednisone stays in your system... I think the general consensus is around 3 months. At the end of 3 months, most of the freaky nonsense that prednisone causes is usually gone... there are of course always exceptions.
When my doc put me on Protonix (similar to Nexium I think), I didn't start having heartburn until AFTER I tried to stop the Protonix. He originally prescribed it for my intestinal ulcers, I guess. I took it for about a week, and then ran out of samples from my doc. The first day without the Protonix I felt like I was continually swallowing magma all day and night, the heartburn was terrible! I know a lot of people on here poo-poo it, but I started drinking really strong herbal tea (peppermint specifically for the heartburn/belly), and after a week or so of tea and low-acid foods, the heartburn went away. Take from that what you will, if anything.
As far as the pain in your belly - I would definitely mention it to your docs. I have a similar pain very close to my belly button that itches from time to time. A recent CT scan shows a mini-hernia of some kind. Absolutely nothing to worry about, doc says. Maybe yours is something similar that showed up on a past test? My doc didn't mention it to me originally because he didn't think I could possibly know something was wonky by minor pains and itching. Just a thought!
I hope things get better for you soon!
