For those of you following my teeth/bone/Asacol/Boniva/Reclast/Prednisone/Vit D tanking over the last several months...I had the remainder of my teeth removed last Friday. So far, so good with the exception of it still hurts like (*&^%$#!
For a recap, I stopped the Humira on Jan. 3rd, the Imuran on Jan. 16th in preparation for the surgery and to help ward off the reoccuring cellulitis in my face until I had all the teeth yanked. This is only post surgery day 5 but no signs of infection or jaw necrosis have appearred and the oral sadist
says I'm on track. Hopefully the Reclast is NOT going to claim my jawbone after all!!! I've been lucky so far in that I haven't had a Crohn's attack the whole time
and have been able to escape any antibiotics as well! Have my new denture ready to go but still too swollen to get them in. They don't really like my accompaning 12 stitches either.
Between the swelling and the fake teeth, I look like a mule with them in anyway.
We are going to discuss me starting my Humira back next Monday and if I make it 3 more weeks and everything in the mouth heals over well I should be out of the woods.
Keep me in your prayers and I hope your CD is treating you kinder today.
There was a mention of a 33 year old with Crohns that died recently on Bill O'Reilly's show tonight (happened to be walking through the room when I heard it). We haven't lost anyone have we?
