Diflucan for Yeast - Recution of Crohn's Symptoms

Hi there, has anyone here had experience with using Diflucan to control intestinal yeast? My doctor found evidence of a yeast infection in blood work and stool sample and prescribed 6 weeks of diflucan. I have been having a lot of D over the last 3.5 years but now with the Diflucan the D is gone. I'm having firm BM's regularly now. Has anyone else had this experience?

I had to take Diflucan for 6 months when I had Valley Fever a few years ago. It didn't help my crohn's symptoms (I actually had to go on entocort at that time). However, I wasn't eating SCD then, and my body was having to wage a major battle with the Valley Fever. It's likely those two factors could be the reason I saw no improvement.

Have you ever tried natural antifungals? I've recently started eating coconut oil, and also want to try some of the others, like Grapefruit Seed Extract, Garlic, Olive Leaf Extract, and Oil of Oregano. I think you're supposed to rotate them to keep the yeast on their toes.

Ow. I just looked up Valley Fever. That sounds horrible. Are you better now?

I've had Diflucan too, Ryan, with no problems.

spookyhurst: Right now I'm really trying to restrict my food to help with the yeast. I'll try other natural products later.

Ivy, I'm better now, but it was a tough thing to deal with. I had just moved to Arizona, and had never heard of valley fever. It was the dang prednisone that lowered my immune system, and the place behind my apartment was doing some construction that had the dirt flying. I ended up with pneumonia and some heart issues, and the worst case of fatigue I ever had (I'd fall asleep sitting in a chair). They said I may have to take Diflucan forever! I stopped it after six months though, and did okay. How's that for a long winded reply to your question turn.
