Hello! To all of you whose has been on Remicade, were you able to eat more things that you couldn't before? I am scared to go on it but on the other hand I am curious if I could finally eat an apple or celery? lol

Yeah, remicade worked great for me the first round. I considered it my wonder drug. So for me, yes I was able to eat pretty much anything I wanted once it kicked it. The wonder of it all was how fast it worked. Like, three weeks. I'd say if you have insurance, give it a try.

Remicade put my guts into remission. I could not eat any raw fruits or vegetables for 25 years. Now the only things I can't aet are Romaine lettuce and popcorn.

Before Remicade I was not able to eat any nuts, raw fruit, basically anthing hard to digest.  Remicade has been a wonder drug for me, it not only enabled me to eat again but gave me back a decent quality of life.

When I was on Remicade I considered it my wonder or miracle drug. No contest, hands down, the best for me. And there should be no reason to be scared, no more of a reason then any other medicatino you take, i mean think about the issures and problems that can accompany steriods, lots of things, some even life-threatening. The bottom line is...the benefits outway the risks by far, or it wouldnt even be on the market, and if somehow it made it then YOUR dr wouldnt bring it up for you to be on.

Trust your doctor. I find thats a major issue around here. People might not notice this but lots of problems people have is because obviously they dont trust their doctors and team, in which case why are you still with them? This is a serious disease people...trust your doctors or find one that you can, this is going to help in getting you better and healthy or keeping you healthy, trust me. the Placebo effect is very real...so if you trust your dr and believe what he suggests will work then the placebo effect will be much more likely to work

How long were you on it? I've been on it since July of '08 and my doc is trying to wean me off of the Imuran I'm also taking. Just wondering how long I have to be on Remicade to not have any relapse effect of the disease.

Remicade is the miracle drug for me. It's the first drug in 30 years that has given me any hope. I am beginning to have what I call "little nuggets of hope." And once in a long time they are little larger"nuggets of hope." But as far as my diet goes, nothing has changed. I eat a completely gluten and wheat free diet. I eat absolutely no dairy, and no raw fruits or vegatables. That's quite the bummer living in South Florida, but the diet helps. I still drool over the fruit and vegetables but the rest I can find in good supermarkets and health food stores. I am on so many more meds for Collagenous Colitis as well as the Crohn's and I have so many other issues. I am waiting the results of an MRI of my right hip due to Crohn's Arthritis. The Remicade has given me hope that something can work for me.
