First Dilation A Success

Today my daughter was able to have her pyloric stricture dilated to 10mm. He was also able to get past her stricture and look at her duodenum. It has been quite awhile since he was able to do this. Tomorrow we go in to dilate to 12mm and she should be good to go. fortunately she has a short stricture so he is hoping this will prevent surgery for awhile. She will start Remicade next week to help with the inflammation. The poor girl has been on a liquid diet for the past three days and very soft food for a week. It was a relief today that he could actually get past the stricture. I still hope we are making the right decision to start Remicade instead of trying 6mp. It's tough to make a decision for someone else.

Thanks Nanners. We have had two scopes started and they were unable to do anything because her stomach wasn't emptying. That was frustrating. So sitting there watching and praying they can do something can get stressful. It's amazing how well kids handle adversity. She has a trip to Washington DC coming up in less than two weeks so we are trying to have her ready to go. She has planned it for two years.
