Since I've been dx'd 05' I have started eating and cooking at home lots!!!...but, these are a few stand by's for me when I go out. (I have diabetes too!)
Wraps always work better for me. Half way through I usually ditch the wrap and just eat the guts.
If you order a salad with tuna salad or egg salad...you can usually just eat the gut's and skip the lettuce..depends on the day.
I always order chicken, or fish...oh, and sometimes seafood. I seem to digest this well.
If I go to a Mexican grill, I skip the rice and just get chicken, beans (pinto seem easy on my stomach) cheese, and lots of guachamole and add a squeeze of lime for taste.
Don't do Subway, McDonalds, Quizzno's, anyplace with cold cuts and preservatives in meat are terrible for me! It will end my trip immediatley!
I try to just enjoy being out. It's not all about the food...it's the fellowship.
I've thought about posting some of the meals I make here at home...just for some options for people ...trying to deal with Crohns. I'm kinda a foody...and now, well I have no choice but to be one!
Good Luck
