I have tried asacol, pentasa, mezavant, salofalk, when I take these my back hurts so bad, and I have flu like

symptoms..

When I don't take a medication I am in so much pain with my bowels on my left side where I was conected.Can't win.

Sounds like time to move on to a bit bigger gun - consider Imuran or 6MP and a short tapering course of Entocort EC. Definitely I would go w/the Imuran or 6MP but that can take up to 6 months to reach full efficacy so I'd consider a 6 week course of full dose Entocort w/a 3 or 4 week taper. Ask your gastro about trying that. You might also want to try a liquid diet for 2 weeks then graduating to a pureed diet then graduating to a low residue diet.

I agree with C2, I think it is time to go on stronger medications. I personally prefer the 6mp as it had less side effects for me than the Imuran. I took it at bedtime and had no side effects because I slept thru them. I was told these can take up to 3-4 months to fully kick in. Good luck!
