pain to the touch

Hi, just wondering if anyone knows if you can have an abcess and the only symptom being pain to the touch (even a light touch).

My belly on the right side is very tender, it also was hurting while out for a short walk the other day. I don't have a fever or nausea though the pain seems similar to when I had an abcess before.

Not sure if I should have it checked out or to just let it ride as is my usual way of dealing with things.

Any ideas?

HI, Have had numerous absesses. They can be very painful to the touch. Keep and eye on any changes, heat, redness, swelling........they can just come up like that. Hopefully that is not the case but be vigilant. Easier to drain a small one then have to deal with a larger one. Be well. Cathy

When it hurts just to touch it, I think you might be better safe than sorry and get it check out soon. And if you have had a abscess before and this is feeling the same, seems even more like you should have the doc check it out. Now don't be stubborn and just let it ride. LOL

I agree with Nanners. Why take the risk? A fever -- even low grade -- could also mean an abscess.
