Hello guys, first post here :)
My name is Vladimir and I'm from Croatia. I'm 24 and finishing my studies. In my spare time I rock climb
I have Crohn's since 2003. but had no surgery till now.
Currently I have a stenosis of the end part of my ileum (5 cm long, 3 mm) and a small fistula.
For now my doctor is advising against surgery due to the fact that I'm able to eat, poop and fart without any problems (no pain, no blood etc..). So far I've only been on cortical steroids (which always calm the flare up but dont get it in remission) and Pentasa.
Now I'm also on Imuran for about 2 weeks so I guess a lot more time needs to pass before I see any possible effects from it.
whats my question? in 3 to 4 day i'm meeting with my doctor and I'd like to be armed with some suggestion for further therapy :)
I know my state is quite serious and I'm most certanly going to end up on the surgical table but I ain't going down without a fight :)
so far i've read that a baloon dilatation is a possible solution for my stenosis but dont know much about it... anyone has any experience with it or knows anything about it?
for the fistula i've read that remicade is a good solution... did i read right? and are there any other medicaments that could help me?
sorry for my english, it was a long time since I've used my written English and tnx for the help in advance ;)
