New with a pregnancy question

Hi everyone.I was dxed in Jan 2009 with Crohn's after getting sick in November. I was on predinsone for a flare and have felt fine ever since. I am still on 2400mg of Asacol a day. My husband and I want to start trying for a baby. Has anyone taken Asacol during pregnancy? OR does anyone know if its safe? I have a drs appt in a few weeks but I was wondering if anyone had any experience. Thanks!

Many women have had successful pregnancies while on this medication as well as Imuran, 6mp, Remicade and Humira. The thought is a healthy mom produces a healthy baby. I am pretty sure that Asacol will be safe to continue while pregnant. It is one of the mildest meds available. Hope this helps, I am sure others will be along to share their experiences too.

I can't speak for Asacol but I am expecting and on remicade. We worked with the GI and OB to work out plans for meds prior to becoming pregant. They need to work together to make sure you are well cared for. Good luck!

I have a perfect baby girl and took Pentasa (same med released in different place) the whole time.
