The iPill - Philips Electronics Research and Development unit is working on the final development stages of The Philips iPill, an ingestible electronic drug medication delivery system.

It sounds much like the Givens Agile Patency Capsule and Imaging Pill Camera except this carries medication directly to the site of disease activity.

I don't think the link works, but I'm pretty sure I read about this a few months ago. I think this could be helpful in delivering a topical steroid to certain areas of the gut. Sort of like a customizable Entocort pill. So rather than just applying it to the TI and ascending colon, the pill can dump it anywhere the disease is.

Probably a long way off though.
