could azithromycin cause a flare?

Hi, Im new here, I was diagnosed with Crohn's June but have had symptoms for at least 6 years. I was on Prednisone since I had an adverse reaction to cipro. (ended up with tendonitis in just about every tendon and couldn't walk). I finally got off the Prednisone last week and the Crohn's seemed to have gone into remission, though my GI told me that it would probably come back within a month and I would need to go on Humira. I was fine until I ended up with a severe cold/bronchitis on the last day of my prednisone that affected my asthma. So my regular doctor gave me aithromycin and by the next day the Crohn's was back in full force. I stopped taking the zithro on Saturday because I've just been in too much pain. I feel a little better today but I don't know. Has any one had this happen. Might it go away on its own?

I am definitely not going to leave it, I was just curious to see if it was common because I won't be able to speak to my doctor until tomorrow night. I don't have diarrhea though, just pain, feeling like I have to go, and not having much of anything.

Hoping things just go away never leads to anything good lol

Zpacks tend to cause me to flare and I have had to stop using them. I have gone thru as many as three different rx's trying to clear up bronchitis and always by day 2 on a zpack I am in big trouble. It took me awhile to make the connection.

Stopping prednisone can also be a source of trouble. Several people have reported problems stopping pred because of recurrence of symptoms before they have tapered off fully. Sometimes the last bit of the taper has to be done very slowly or with another steroid to replace pred for the last bit.
