I received my first infusion today..before the end ...my pain..was gone..how amazing..the skin tag is half its size..the swelling is down..my anus almost looks like normal lol..and the fistula swelling is down..and it appears to be already starting the healing process..i can tell because the redness is down..around the fistula..where the incision was ..has healed..a very tiny hole is left..and it discharged in a way...it would if it were to be its last time....could this be? I am amazed...i feel wonderful...my joints don't hurt..and i have energy..and an appetite!

I am very happy for you. I felt the same way after my first infusion. The second time was a little different. Wishing you the best!

I also drank coffee without running to the bathroom...amazing..that hasn't happened in a long time..if this continues..i won't even bother with the fistula..whether it heals or not..i can live like this..this is great..when i wiped myself..i wasn't swollen like a portabella mushroom lol..it was like..normal..for once!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! wooohoooooo..i am happy:)

Wow that’s great Frogelita, it gives me hope, my bottom is such a mess, I had no idea Remi could work that fast!! Now I am really dying to get it! They are putting my application in this week. My bottom is still so sore, it’s been like this all year I can’t wait to see if Remi works for me! My fistula is so red and inflamed and getting bigger I hope I get similar results to you.

Phoebe! Whats up girl...i hope they get that application in quick..I think you will have the same results..its the perfect med..for those with fistula...abscess problems..because right away..any decrease in inflammation..you can tell...i guess as soon..as it starts blocking..the TNF protein..or something like that..well its instant....and i was really swollen..i almost couldn't wipe at all anymore..only really soak and use the shower sprayer..heres to praying for Remicade...to come your way really soon...:)

Hey Frogelita, I hope they get my application in quick too!! It’s amazing how fast it has worked for you – fantastic news!! I can’t use any kind of toilet paper either, has to be the shower sprayer only….. even going ‘back there’ to look at the situation, it hurts so much to look because things get disturbed even further, the whole area is so red and angry and weeping all the time, its awful. I just can’t wait and I hope it works for me like it is for you, I have awful tags too, really really big sore ones – I know my surgeon said they will go down once the crohn’s is under control but I had no idea it acted so fast!

I am absolutely dying for Remi now too, after hearing how well it has worked for you!

 

….. the nurse said she is sending in my application this week. I asked how long it takes and she said 2-3 weeks until she hears back from Medicare. So we will see. Then I guess they have to schedule me in to the day unit to get my infusion. Gosh I hope it works for me!!

cool  okay CHEERS for homeboy! alright! Heal up those fistula's...ha ha...fistula be gone!!!

Phoebe girl..a few weeks..thats good news..you are closer..and their is hope..i really believe..that neither of us..will have to stay..the way..we have been for so long...i feel bad you have the tags too..they just make the whole issue worse..and hard to clean..and they can actually  hurt too...thank god for shower sprayers...and sitz baths..or i might just lose my mind..i also found that cleaning with tissues or cotton balls..is like...ahhhh soothing! Phoebe...i can not think of a reason why it wouldn't work for you...i was so nervous at my infusion..i was worried about an allergic reaction..and the nurse told me..it usually happens during the infusion..and that when that happens..they just turn it off..wait for the symptoms to go away..and then they turn it back on...at a slower rate... for me today..it was nice..my mom and my sister came for the first half..and got me snacks to eat..and then my dad..came..and that was nice too...and i hadn't seen my sister since..maybe Oct..of 2008..so i was all smiles:)

Oh that’s lovely I will probably have to be on my own when I have mine, because my parents live 5 ½ hours away…. So they can’t be here……. I still crave their company, being 23 and the youngest, I’m very close to them. And my sister has already taken time off work to look after me while I was in hospital. It’s a depressing thought going there alone though. Maybe my mum or dad will come up. It’s a long way to go though….. so glad you had your family there, nothing beats having their support and it makes the time fly! I had my mum with me once for an iron infusion, that was lots more fun than it would have been if she hadn’t been there with me!

aww phoebe don't worry..nurses are so sweet and so kind...they check in on you every 15 minutes...and talk to you...you are not alone...and sometimes..in these centers..you may have someone next to you..getting a different type of infusion...it all depends...its a chance to take a nap..or read a good book..or a magazine..bring an ipod..bring snacks, write in a journal, write a letter, it goes by fast...and as you start to feel better..because it does give you an energy boost...all you can feel..is ...happy:)

I have not used Remicade myself, but have heard many say that it worked great for them right away and then others say it takes 3-4 infusions before they felt it. Glad to hear that it seems to be working quickly for you. It does feel good when the meds work quickly doesn't it???

It really does...i had high hopes for it..because my colon healed with asacol..so i believe that medicine really and truly works..i think that once this is under control..i think i can heal once and for all...today is great..no inflammation today...i feel relaxed..i was able to wipe as a normal lol..person does..drink coffee without running to the bathroom..and eat..without worry! The fistula is still open..air is passing through..but ..i do notice..nothing is really draining anymore..so i have hope..and today is a good day...i am enjoying..feeling good!

Thanks! to all who replied...i still feel great and going strong...my skin irritations gone..like exzema..cracks in the hands and feet..inflammation in the eyes..joint pain gone..fatigue gone..I was even swollen in my legs and hips..and that is gone too..even irritation from shaving is magically healed!
