prednisone causing gas/bloating?

I have been taking prednisone 30mg for two weeks now (due to start my taper tomorrow)....for the past week I have been having what seems like gas or indigestion (lots of noise, movement, crampy pain)...mostly beginning in the afternoons and worsening in the evening.... I'm taking zantac with the pred. as well.

Has anyone else had this same issue when taking prednisone? I can't see what else could be causing this as I'm having regular bowel movements and otherwise feeling great.

I recently was having alot of problems with gas and bloating especially after I ate. Found out I had a small intestine bacterial overgrowth. Took Cipro twice a day for 10 days and changed to a better probiotic and things have improved greatly. So maybe something to discuss with your doc.

But.........the Pred also causes me the same symptoms at times, so it could be the culprit too.
