This is a real first for me. Woke about
3 am this morning and was just uncomfortable. Went to the bathroom but nothing passed. In just a few minutes I was very nauseated and began to dry heave. That went on for almost an hour with nothing coming up . Finally calmed down and I was able to get back to bed. Woke this morning and went to the bathroom. All just as usual. Other than the pulled muscles and sore eyes from the heaves I feel fine. I dont understand this one. Dont think it was anything I ate. Anyone else do this ???

hey sniper...the only time I had this was when I had gallstones. It would come out of the blue when a stone was stuck in a duct, then as soon as the stone moved, all was fine no more dry heaves.
Hope it does not return for you.

Yeah, when I am working on an obstruction or have a virus (well also a period but I do not think that is your problem :).

I will have waves of nausea sometimes. I went for years with this DD without having nausea then about
3 years ago I started to have occasional bouts. No real cause and they will pass with no actual vomiting or D, so I have no idea why I have the episodes. So other than to tell you, you are not alone, I am no help.

Dry heaves sounds like gull stones to me. Did they come on all of the sudden? I've heard if your a "stone-maker" you'll make both kidney and gullstones. What did you have to eat before all of the nausea?

During my first flare, which got really bad, I had dry (and wet) heaves all the time, to the point my esophagus was eroded (GE prescribed me Protonix). Could hardly eat anything at all. Was challenging making sure both ends got over the toilet in time!
During my second flare I only got nauseous when my bowels started filling up, then it passed with the BM. Kinda weird--must be a end-to-end nerve connection there, LOL.

I know that end to end connection GDen. I sometimes have a crappy outlook.
Flowery, it was sudden . I had soup for supper and my stomach was empty or I would have thrown up something.
