A couple times in the past month I've had a few days where I get a lot of pain around my mid-section in my back. It's like I was working out and my muscles are sore, but I don't think it's my muscles. Every time I breathe I get a strong pain across the back of my ribs. Has anyone had a similar symptom? I'm wondering if this is something like the arthritic pain I feel. I've had bad elbow pain before and lately my legs are very achy too.

I have bad back pain from crohn's. I assume it is arthritis pain I've told my doctors about
this but they dont seem overly concerned. Although for them to show much concern means I have to be on my death bed and even then I'm not sure they would.

I get really bad back pain sometimes too; I went on cipro for an unrelated infection and it seems to have gone away for the most part (the severe pain anyway). I am kind of convinced it's a result of being hunched over because my stomach hurts, resulting in back pain? I'm not sure. Usually lying down with my heating pad straightens things out though!

I often have back trouble during flares but an MRI scan I had done showed that when my hips were inflamed the inflammation spread up the tendons in my back too, even though my hips haven't flared for a long time usually when I flare my back will usually hurt, one of my warning signs for a flare if my back starts giving me trouble.

Consider getting a bone density scan done to check for osteroperosis, it is a very easy, and simple test, especially if you have ever use prednisone.
The breathing pain, which I discovered while on this forum, could be Pleurisy, google it.

I did have a bone density test done last year at the suggestion of my GI doc so thankfully I know that's not it. The pain did subside after a couple days so I will chalk it up to a flare issue.
