I've misplaced my seton

Well, I had a seton installed a week ago Wednesday. This morning while I was spraying down the area I noticed that it was gone! I had several violet contractions of my colon last night shortly after administering a cortenema and I'm guessing that the seton was ripped out when that occurred. My flare went ballistic yesterday and I ended up on the toilet 15 times.

Am I just unlucky or should it never have come out?

Tap, this happened to me over Easter, and guess what... the general consensus of the forum members was that I needed to phone a doctor asap.

I think this may be true for you, too.

Sorry this has happened. It's always a shock, isn't it?

Just so you know, they did replace it, and everything worked out fine... but it was important that I made those initial phone calls as soon as it happened.

Thanks for the link Ivy. I called the rectal surgeon's office this morning and they eventually got back to me this afternoon to schedule an office visit for next week.

I got a prednisone prescription this afternoon from my GI's office to deal with this debilitating flare. Going forward I'm guessing that the steroids will be more problematic than the missing seton.
