It's likely that the
urgent care physician that you saw had a very limited ophthamology rotation during his/her internship and was not comfortable making a diagnosis. That is no excuse though. If the
doctor could not make a diagnosis, given the symptoms you have described, you should have been referred for treatment sooner than Monday. Your symptoms suggest a possible case of
iritis which is considered an emergency. Your ophthamologist might have after-hours on call contact. Call your his number and follow instructions for reaching the on-call doctor and then explain your symptoms. If you can't reach anyone that way, I would consider going to the emergency room.
