Hi, everyone i wonder if you have any advise i have been on pentasa since June ever since i have taken them certain joints ache at first put the ache down to being on my feet alot, wearing diffrent shoes, but lately and especially this morning i was in agony fro my hips to my feet and in one wrist also vomited this morning tried taken painkillers but hasn't done nothing. my next appointment with my GI isn't till 8/1/10 i haven't had any blood work done either!Has any of you had achy joints while on pentasa/ Do you think it could be the pentasa? I was on Asacol before but had to come off them as they made me ill with sickness and servere headaches. Thanks for taking the time to read, will be grateful for any advise. Bev x

I don't remember getting joint pain with pentasa, but when I take prednisone, it makes my legs hurt something awful. I wouldn't be surprised if it is the pentasa though. I seem to have the odd side effects from anything I take.

I hope it gets better soon!

((((Bev)))) sorry your hurting so much.

I've been taking Pentasa since April 2006 and it's been great for me. Of course it could be a side effect but with the vomiting too it sounds like it could be the beginning of a flare (I hope not), or when I get the flu now, it starts with pretty bad joint and/or leg pain.

If the pain gets really severe, don't just suffer through it shakehead go to the ER.

I'm on pentasa too with achey joints but I'm not sure if it's the cause! Seems like my knee won't bend everytime rain is coming... weird.

Thanx everyone for your replies I went to my GP this morning he doesn't think its the Pentasa but is sending me to get my bloods checked. He said it sounds like a side effect of the H1N1 shot i had, i thought it would of come out before now. Bev x

I have the same achy joint symptoms also on pentasa. backache really bad, my feet hurt , my knees , my shoulders. etc.....I know it is the pentasa for me, because when I go off
it the aches ease up. I still have aches but not nearly as bad. I have also tried asacol. I am worse off with that one. If you read up on pentasa these side effects are listed. It is awful ,because
we are trying the deal with this disease , and then we have to deal with the horrible side effects too!

joint pain and crohn's has gone hand in hand with me since the beginning. No matter what I am taking. Remicade helped with the joint inflamation, but stiffniss and pain is always there. could be the same with you

I have similiar joint pains and I am currently taking pentasa and pred. Somedays it seems worse than others, and sometimes I get strange twitches in my shoulder and leg! Anyone else get those?!?!? I spend a lot of time on my feet at work, well the days I make it there! I have not found a reason or rhymn for the pains. I find myself taking pain meds to take the edge off, lame! Might sound like a bit of a bandaid type fix, but shoes inserts actually help the joints make it through the day! Best of luck to you!

I have also had joint pain but at during a flare and the doc said it could be just the flare or also that my vitamin d and calcium are low. I started taking pentasa about two weeks ago and the joint pain seems a little worse the past couple of days. but taking the calcuim and vit d have def seemed to help. I hope you find some relief.....

pentasa can cause joint pain etc. I hate the meds for crohns and the disease. wishing everyone living with this would be healed.. I hate being in pain every day & I know some of you have is very bad. I hate knowing its only getting worse. Hope they find a cure soon what ever happened to the study with crohn's and cows anyone know?
