chinese herbal medicine? benefit or useless?

Hello,
Yestoday my friend told me that one of their crohn's friend used herbal therapy, and this helped her finally get into remission. I have had active crohns since my diagnosis 18 months ago. I have never been in remission, Ive already had four courses of pred. Currently im on methotrexate, but day after day i feel more terrible. I am really considering seeing the herbal practitioner she saw, but i just want to hear about any other negative or postive cases out there.

Might help, but no herb is completely harmless. If you can get the exact name of the herb, it would help.

They might well be able to address some of your symptoms. I agree with njmom, find out what they want to give you and check it out first. Some poor Newt is gonna lose an eye. lol

I took Kalmegh also known as Kang Jang as part of study and it was great. It put me in remission and I had no side effects. It has been used in asian cultures for centuries.

There was a thread on here somewhere about mushroom extract (or was it just tea?) that was supposed to help with symptoms. I don't know where it is though...

Could it have been kombucha tea? I've read about that helping in a book
