very embarrising loosing my mind.

Hi everyone merry xmas happi new year ,anyway been suffering with fistulars for about 2 years now but now inside my bottom really hurts after a bowel motion and also i suffer badley with wind and in the afternoon its at its worse but when i try to hold it in it comes throught the front passage if you know what i meen iv had 8ft sml bowel taken out allready no gallblader had one fistullar surgery allredy dont want to do that again,currently taking 15m pred 15yrs ,immuran 50m b12 inj antacids just dont know what to do its ruining my life witch i dont have one,i am a single mum 3 kids and it affects them to cos i am sooo boring work 2 jobs so i get very stressed only because i cant be the mum i want to be for them .hope you can help x

Yes I have heard the same from Wolfie that Remicade is used to heal Fistulas. Has your doc tried that for you yet? Good luck!

Bec, if I remember rightly, you're in a rural / regional community, aren't you?

Have you ever been referred to the city to see one of the big expert doctors there?

Bec, do you see a doctor at one of the major teaching hospitals, or are you seeing a gastro out in the suburbs?

I ask because only a select few gastros have the authority to prescribe Remicade / Infliximab, and most of them are based at the major teaching hospitals. It sounds to me as if you could benefit from having a re-examination of your medication regime - your Imuran dose sounds pretty low to me, and I also think you might benefit from Infliximab - and that maybe you will need a second opinion to get into a better condition, healthwise.

Apart from the fissure, what are your other gut symptoms at the moment? Are you still running to the toilet a lot, and in a lot of pain?
