internal hemorrhoid?

I'm wondering if the bleeding I've been experiencing the last couple days could be an internal hemorrhoid. I've had bleeding before that was caused by inflammation in the colon, but that was accompanied by lots of D also. Now I'm having occasional D, but bright red blood, and no pain. I had an external hemorrhoid before that was very painful. Do internal hemmies usually hurt? Is there any way to know if the bleeding is a hemmie or just CD? (aside from going to the doctor :))

You should find out from a doctor.. As my guess is that your crohns is somewhat (still) mild by the fact you have only occasional D and can have formed stool and ...even identify the location of the inflammed area by seeing where the blood spot is located on the stool upon exit and estimating how far up the bowel it is located then. If the hemmie is to the point of obstruction you may have a more of nausea /vomit feeling. If its just bleeding from inflammation then it might not hurt. Either way, really dont wanna speculate so have looked at with scope and get correct treatment.

Well I am currently in remission and have fairly formed stools all the time. But....when I have eaten something I shouldn't or have an increase in D I will get a little blood on the toilet paper. That is generally from my internal hemmoroids. Is the blood just on the toilet paper or is it mixed in with the stool? If its on the toilet paper I would lean towards internal hemmoroids, but if mixed in the stool, you might want to bring it to your doctors attention. By the way my internal hemi's generally don't hurt. Good luck!

The blood has been both on the stool and on the toilet paper. I am a "bleeder", so it may be wishful thinking on my part that this latest round of blood is something other than a flare. I guess I'll just ask the doc to do a sigmoid next time i'm there. thanks for you opinions!
