Ct results, inflammation and thickening

So, my results are in from the ct scan. I have inflammation in my sigmoid and descending colon (still) a year after treatment. He said also I had thickening in the same area. Does all IBD cause this thickening or is it just crohn's that causes thickening? He did mention that my asca test was positive but they couldn't treat and diagnose just on the basis of that. He said he didn't want to create more problems with a heavier medicine. However, we are going to see what the flexible sigmoidoscopy says and the biopsies. Any thoughts from anyone on the thickening thing?? I guess it is more wait, get tested and wait again........ I could have told them 6 months ago the colazal wasn't working. lol.....

I could be caused by inflammation or scar tissue. Sounds like your Crohns is definetly active. Hope these further tests provide some information and they find the right treatment for you. Hugs!

Thanks everyone for the replies. Yea, my doc may think I am not all that sick. Ha! Ha! I told him about my last episode of diarrhea, bleeding, fever and mucus just a few weeks ago and the ?? potential fissures I had this summer that I was told by my PCP was a yeast infection. Yeast meds did not help btw. I read up here, thought it was fissures and used the cortifoam they had given me a few months earlier. I've had trouble all this year and I don't think the colazal did a d--n thing for me! It took me many calls to get them to decide I was sick enough and complaining enough to get seen! I am kind of frustrated. With a positive test for crohn's and these symtpoms, they ought to treat my butt (pardon the pun.) Anyway, hopefully, the scope and biopsies will be definitive next friday and show something (not that I want them to show crohn's!) but at this point an answer would give me peace and we'd know what we need to do to get me well. My life has been on hold here for the last year! Thanks, as always for listening!
