How often do you see your GI?

Sorry if this has been posted before but could you tell me once they get your crohns under control and your put on the right meds how often do you see your GI? thanks so much Bevx

I am fairly well controlled on 6mp, so with no major issues arising during a year, I see him annually for medication renewals and a check up, with scopes every 4-5 years. I am encouraged, however, to call if any issues arise in between. It really depends on the severity of one's case . . . many Crohnies probably need to see their GIs more frequently.

once every 3 months, unless I start to feel bad again then I am to call and make an appointment

Currently in remission and maintained with Asacol. I see my GI every 3-4 mos just to check how things are going. I have quarterly blood draws done too.

Every 3 months, even when doing well, just to do bloodwork, since he's on remicade. And of course, if he's not feeling well, call an go in right away, so he can get treated as quickly as possible.

I go about every 3-4 months with a scope yearly.  This is regardless if I am flaring or under control.

Once a year. I'm afraid he'll change something if he knows I'm still in some pain and I'm getting used to the status quo!

I go every 4 months,and a scope every other year(thank you thank you).
Go to my GP every 4 months also, for blood work and med updates.

every month and it's usually accompanied by CBC and sed rate.

Every 3 months for crohns, and in between that a GI who specials in the pancres.

Since I've been diagnosed, it's been anywhere from once every 2 weeks to every 3 months. 3 months is the longest I've gone, right now it's back at around once a month. I'm hoping to get down to once every 6 months when I'm feeling better. I'm definitely seeing more of the doctor than I'd like lately! It's kind of sad since I've only been seeing her since last February, and her secretary already recognizes my voice on the phone before I say my name. Kind of depressing!

Typically every 3 months unless I call in with issues then they set me up a new appt.

Once a year in the office for one of those stupid "well visits", once a year for a colonoscopy. If I run into problems in between I go to my family doctor for help. My gastro is only in the office one day a week and is doing procedures the other days. Getting an appointment is like pulling hen's teeth so why bother, it is just easier and quicker to get help from my family doctor.

My appointments are every 6 months, if I have any trouble though he'll see me at his next clinic after I've made contact (he does 2 a week)....awesome doctor!
