Dr. Chiodini, for those who have followed the MAP debate, is well-known. He has been retired from research for a number of years, but he is coming back for another shot at finishing what he and a few others started back in the 80's.

The goal appears to prove or disprove causality within approximately five years.

Rule # 4.  "Posts and links about fundraising (including nonprofit fundraisers) are NOT permitted."

Sounds great to me. I'd like this settled once and for all - as frankly I'm tired of hearing about it! If it turns out to be the cause that would be great IMO.

Is he in El Paso working with Dr. Chamberlin? I believe that is who my daughter met when she was there in December.

I hope he makes progress. I am one of the crohn's patients whose doctor found MAP in breast milk. I suspect that the answer will be found soon, one way or another. There has to be a reason why it has exploded since WWII.

Well, I know that Dr. Chamberlin was VERY excited. It's just that I was focusing more on my daughter and her colonoscopy results but I thought that was who he was talking about. I am hoping my daughter can be one of their success stories.

For the research, Dr. Chamberlin wants a scope before starting the treatment--then another in a year. We have talked to other patients, though, who have had wonderful results. My daughter just started Dec. 19th but her WBC decreased to the point that she had to stop for a week and then take lower doses of two the three antibiotics. It hasn't been fun--she has been quite sick but it's what was promised for 8 weeks or more.

I agree aswell, so many Crohn's patients have had their lives turned around for the better with anti MAP treatment.  The papers are out there, we just need to make our doctors read them !

Hello everyone, hope you are all as healthy as possible. I am glad to hear that Chiodini is back to work on the MAP debate with Dr Chamberlin and others. Seems like we could get some definitive answers shortly.

I was just wondering if anyone has heard of or donated to Prof Hermon-Taylor's vaccine research? From people I have spoken to and papers I have read, it seems he is by far the expert in the world on MAP, its detection and treatment. There is already a huge campaign in England to push this vaccine to clinical trials. Check it out and see what you think!
