On Sunday i started to feel nausea and then i started to vomit and the food i had Friday and Saturday was coming out. Then on Monday i seemed to feel a little better and had toast and some crackers during the day and last night started to vomit and feel nausea again. If i lay down i feel better until i get up and the nausea starts again. Does this mean i have an obstruction and will need surgery?
I have no pain and am waiting for the doctor to call back. How can they tell if i have an obstruction?
Thanks

Usually I have had small bowel follow thru's (SBFT) to check to see if I had a stricture. I am glad you have called the doc. I think you need to know whats going on. Good luck!

with my obstuction i started to vomit up bile and the pain was more intense that imaginable. it can be life threatening if not surgically repaired. I had emergency type of surgery

It would be good to get checked out by your doctor. But if it's any consolation there is currently another one of those stomach viruses spanning the country (according to numerous chats I've been visiting lately). And it's not just a 24 hour one either. It lasts about
a week or so.
Feel better soon.

When I had my obstruction in my small intestine I had fever off and on everyday...it would get as high at 104 sometimes...my right side would hurt off and on and I was never hungry. All of this would come and go....I finally had surgery and now I am all better....I would call your doctor....

Similar things happened to me. I went to the ER, had SBFT to see what's going on, and after a couple days of bowel rest things tamed down. But after doing that a few times each year things got worse and I had to have surgery. My guess is you'll go through the same situation - CT scan to see what's going on and then either bowel rest or surgery, depending on how the former goes.
That being said, you'd have a lot of pain if it was an obstruction so it may be a stomach flu.

Any time I've been obstructed, I always had pain. Usually, the pain is severe and debilitating.
Maybe you have the flu, norovirus, food poisoning...? Could also be crohn's related.
Check with the doc to be sure.
