sooooo constipated!! Need advice please

I have not had a real BM in over two weeks. My stomach is so full, Im beginning to look like im pregnant. My gastro put me on kristalose 20mg a while back. to tell the truth I didnt take it every night like I was supposed to but I was pretty regular for a long time. When I started getting constapated it just kept getting worse. I was taking the kristalose, 3 stool softners at a time, 3 or 4 laxatives at a time just trying to get something to going. But nothing would ever happen. I finally called my gastro back on tueday and told his nurse what was going on with me. My gastro told me to take miralax twice a day and take my kristalose once a day. So I have been doing this for 4 days nows and still NOTHING!!! I have to do it for one week and then call him back and get an appointment with him. Does this sound like a blockage or a stricture to yall? I need some advice on what in the world is going on or anything that might help at all?

I don't know about a blockage or stricture. No experience in that area.
Have you tried eating something really high in fiber? I either eat a ton of celery or Jicama. Don't forget to drink lots of water.
Exercise also makes me go to the bathroom. Like running is a sure way to go.
Although the Miralax should make you go. My gastro said they even use it as preps for colonoscopies.

blockage would put in the hospital with pain and more than likely surgery to either remove portion of blockage, or something to see why your blocked, the pain is like none other, mine was emergency situation. but being constipated like that and know being able to move your bowel's sounds serious to me.

4 surgeries 2 resections, ft9 of small intestine removed from cd.

constipation is not something I have experience with but I agree with the above that walking or running (yeech!) help regularity. Stay hydrated and keep in touch with the doctor. Luck

If this is something new, you might wonder about your gallbladder.  I had my first gallbladder attack 3 mos ago.  the very next day the constipation started.  Ultrasound showed the bile to be sludge which can cause constipation for some.  It is miserable, I think I prefer the D.

It does sound like a stricture to me. When I had a stricture before my resections, I suffered with really bad constipation like that before the big pain attack happened. I was taking stool softners nightly for a couple of years and they kept things moving, but after awhile it was like nothing would work. I would be VERY careful with trying anything other than what the doctor told you to do, as fiber supplements would be bad if you have a stricture because it could cause even more problems for you. Increasing your water intake might help a little, but I really think you need to get in and get some testing done to see whats going on inside. Have you asked your doctor about trying a scope prep? But don't do it without talking to your doc first. Good luck and keep us posted.
