A question about Mesalamine.

How it is suppose to work?

If anti-infflamatories are prohibed with IBD.

Why Mesalamine(enema) is use?Does it help lower gut infflamation and nerve irritation down there?

I think "topical" is a good word to describe mesalamine. Think of it like a blam or a lotion for your intestines. It's a pretty mild drug with virtually no side effects and though it didn't put me in remission, it definitely was doing something, as I went from mesalamine to nothing for about a month while I was waiting for my insurance to approve the TNF-alphas and MAN did I regret it.
