Does anyone know if narcotics will make a small bowel follow through "Lookd different"

Ok, So i had a fentanyl patch 25mcg on during my last SBFT in september..

they were a bit concerned that it took 3 hrs instead of the projected 45mins.

Yes, Fentanyl makes the bowels or any narcotics extremely Sluggish.

But... CAN IT make the test look any different? Can it make the bowels look more narrowed? What does it make the bowels do other than be sluggish. I was curious if my stricture could of looked different because of this..


Heres the Thing, and NOTHING is better than advice from Other Crohnies who we all love to hear from.

I have yet to have a bowel obstruction but I do seem to lose response to meds or they just dont work and for that my weight and nutritional status suffers. And the pain and issues causes me to be homebound almost. But i still have methotrexate left to try.

If I have never had an obstruction, but stricturing.. Should I wait first? Or go with surgery? I do want to try all my options but also not make it worse. I almost want to try Methotrexate and then RE-DO the small bowel series again with no narcotics.
