Hello everyone!

My 13yo daughter was just diagnosed with Crohn's Disease last week. I have been researching like a mad-woman in preparation for our follow-up visit with the Pediatric Gastroenterologist. I am so pleased that I stumbled on to this website and plan on becoming a regular reader/contributor. Thank you in advance for sharing your knowledge and experience - I know it will help me to be a better mom as my daughter battles with this disease.

Hello Heather,
You sound just like me lol, read, research, read, ask questions, research............!!! Becareful of brain overload, there is so much info regarding so many aspects that it is very difficult to take it all in.
You are probably quite relieved right now that her condition has been diagnosed and you can put a name to it, I found I was but then reality hit home and for a few weeks I felt extremely low as it hit home that this was for life.
My 16 year old diagnosed Nov 09 so I am still on a steep learning curve, still reading/researching/asking questions :).

Hi Heather and welcome to Healingwell's Crohns forum. I am glad you have found us. We have a few parents of young folks with Crohns on this forum. I will caution you though, that many on this forum are more severe cases, so not all you will read happens to each Crohnnie.
