Hi All!

I'm currently on Remicade - my last dose was 300mg and my nest infusion is being upped to 400mg and then changed to a 6 week cycle.

I've been experiencing recurring vaginal irritation for the last two years and finally in September of last year we figured out that I had yeast infections that weren't showing up on cultures. I took Diflucan for a month and finally got rid of the sucker . . . Until I got put on Flagyl. In January I stopped the flagyl and started Remicade and was on Diflucan for 2 months trying to get rid of a yeast infection... At least that's what the Nurse practioner told me I had during a routine pap.

Anyway, the symptoms went away for a while (about 3 weeks) and are back again. My question is, has anyone ever had problems with recurring yeast infections after they went on Remicade? What have you done to "cure" it or get rid of it?

I've been on Remicade since May 08, I had reoccuring yeast infections while I was on pred, but since I've been off I haven't had any problems. I would alway take Diflucan to clear mine up until the next time.  I'm not sure what you could do, I know they make a pill you can buy over the counter at Wal-mart by AZO for yeast, it says it's suppose to help with that, I haven't tried it, but I would maybe talk to your doctor about it and see if this is something he/she would recommend you trying.

I'm still experiencing troubles and Diflucan combined with OTC kits aren't working. I had read that fungal infections are a common thing with Remicade. Hoping someone else may have some insight. Right now I'm on 50mg a day of Diflucan for a month. It's really starting to put a damper on my intimate life.

Have they cultured recently? It may be something else this time that takes a differnet med to kill. Just a suggestion.

Yes - they cultured.
Now they have run a blood test to see if I may have Fungemia. Ever heard of it?
