I've been reading the forums since it was first mentioned to me that I may or may not have crohns. I was JUST diagnosed in January but my "stomach problems" started three years ago when I thought I had an allergy to specific foods which gave me abdominal craps and nausia. And occasionally pain that would cause me to black out...
After being diagnosed I was given Pentasa, which I still take, as well as Purinethol, which from what was explained to me could elimnate the need for surgery in the furture. (Something called a fisher? had attached itself from the bowel wall to my bladder.)
Last week I was rushed to emergency because of extreme abdominal pain but outside of what my norm is. After and ultra sound, MRI and multiple blood tests they told me I had a panceitic attack set off my gallstones. Now I need to have my gallbladder removed, but the surgen informed me that I got those gallstones from my crohns disease.
Anyone else in the same boat that can lend assistance? I'm told a low fat and low fiber diet... Which is looking harder and harder to accomplish.
