From what I know of the pred...it didn't alter my blood counts, it just sucked up all my calcium and potassium. But I don't know anything more about
the stuff.

Mine went up immediatley after my first injection of solumedrol (IV prednisone). It is very common for this to happen while on corticosteroids. Make sure that you discuss it with your doctor. Steroids do lower the immune system's ability to fight infections so it is important that your doctor knows why you count is up.

Yes this happens with pred, I always have slightly increased (approx. 12,000) WBC, and when I asked my doctor, he said it's a common thing to happen.

this happens because prednisone downregulates the adhesion ligands that WBC's use to latch onto blood vessels. as a result, more are in circulation and thus measured on the blood test

Yes, a higher white count from prednisone is common.
Mine is usually 12-13k on it.(10k is normal max)
If you visit the ER, or see a new doctor, make sure you tell them about
this, so they don't go trying to chase down some kind of infection that you don't have.
