I had a colonoscopy on Friday, and the doctor removed a polyp. Can anyone who has had one of these procedures tell me if it is common to have a sharp stabbing pain in the general area where it was done? I wasn't told to expect any discomfort, and I'm just wondering if it's something out of the ordinary. Anyone??? Please???

You should not have severe pain after a c-scope, even when a polyp was removed. Maybe some cramping. I wuold watch it and if it gets worse or you spike a fever, contact the G|I promptly, as it could signal a perforation.

I have never had pain after having them removed. Just the usual discomfort from the prep and scope. If this persists , call your doctor and get it checked out...

I didn't feel anything after having a small polyp removed.
