Hey all. Hope you are well!
Just got back from a trip and started having some uncomfortable feeling in my right "buttcheek" today. Kinda like there is "something there." It isn't painful, just uncomfortable. I have had 2 fistulotomies with setons years ago (2001-2002) but haven't had anything since. Since it's been so long, i can't remember how the pain/feeling began. I do remember it got to a point where I couldn't sit down anymore and had to get surgery the next day.
So, my questions are: 1) How can you tell if it is a fistula or abscess? (I'm really hoping its just a spasm in a muscle due to working out, but I doubt it) 2) How can I keep this at bay? I know a lot of people go for years living with them, but the only two I ever had were so painful that I needed surgery. 3) I am going on vacation in 2 weeks and want to make sure I'm okay for the duration. Any way to stop it in its tracks? Any advice would be helpful!
I had my surgeries years ago and figured that they would help keep other fistulas from forming. Guess they can form pretty much anywhere in the behind :-(
