I have just had an ultrasound due to bleeding between periods, and they discovered at least one polyp, maybe 2 in my uterus. I also have a cyst on my cervix. All of this seems quite new, but could the abdominal pain I have suffered due to Crohn's be actually the polyps or worsened by the polyps? Has anyone experienced this, or had polyps removed? I have been referred to a gynecologist, but it may be 3 months before I get an appointment. I certainly have lower abdominal pain at different times of the month, but I have only just started to track it according to my cycle.

i dont get that time of the month any more due to my birth control method but i do how ever get polyps. Ive only had them in the past month or so and between the doctors and myself we were trying to figure out why.Mine are on the outside only as far as i know atm I have an appointment soon with my surgeon and i plan to talk to him about them and getting them removed. I will let you know how i go.

I had fibroids on my uterus, which is what led me to finally have a total hysterectomy. It made my monthly miserable for at least 3 weeks out of every month.

I've had uterine polyps but never heard that they could be painful. I have noticed pelvic pain associated with my cycle and I think it's just ovulation related.

Yes, I had a uterine polyp last year. The year I was diagnosed with colitis. It was a fun year. Actually, the procedure to remove the polyp was a piece of cake for me. I felt no pain afterwards and had just a little light bleeding. They did a D & C and polyp removal. I was post menopausal though, so it had to be removed. I think it was making sex a little painful. I hope it turns out as easy for you as it did for me.

I had fibroids and polyps. I was in a ton of pain to the point that I was barely functioning. Several doctors later and I was told that it was my back and I was sent to 8 weeks of PT, but also scheduled to have the F and P removed. My GYN assured me that there was no way that they were the cause of my pain. Well low and behold I was in pain up until the day of my surgery but no pain after. HUH, I guess doctors don't know everything. I knew that the pain was not my back. I had an ablation. The procedure was pretty easy but I was wiped out and in a bit of pain for a few days. Overall it was well worth it though.
