Crohn's, IBS, UTI? Who knows anymore?

Did you have any colds or infections this winter where you took any antibiotics? could it be C-diff causing the D? As for the UTI, that has happened to me a few times. I have gone in for a routine physical and found out that I had either UTI or bladder infection, but no symptoms yet. Then they didn't clear up on one round of antibiotics. They should have done a culture to see what anti would fight it best, so calling your doctor might get you a different script. Sometimes they send you home with a broad spectrum anti before the cultures come back, then if it hasn't cleared up they dig a bit deeper and go for one that tested positive in the petri dish.

Also, you may have caused some irritation from the infection. I ended up having to see a urologist and was put on some meds to calm down the internal inflamation so it didn't feel like I had to go all the time and another drug too, but I can't remember what that one was for. I was feeling much better in a few days. Again, its a matter of going to the right kind of doctor for the specific problem. They just have more things to pull out of their bag of tricks.

First, your DR needs to culture your urine to make sure the Z-pack was the right bullet for whatever bacteria you've got in your bladder.

Second, the colonoscopy only goes up to the cecum, so who knows what your small bowel looks like? This is what I find most frustrating about CD. Just because your colon looks good does not mean that you are in remission, IMO. My last colonoscopy put me into a flare that it took 3 months to get out of.
