Pred and Pentasa - two questions Please

HI Need your insight please. I am taking 40mg of Pred and Pentassa. I have the following 2 questions 1) Yesterday one shin started to hurt and I could not raise my right foot. Today both shins started to hurt like heck. I am now struggeling to walk. Do you think this is anything to do with the meds and do you think I should take any action? 2) I bought Pentassa from UK. It is a tab not a capsule. Do you think this is an issue? Thanks as always David

You might want to call your doc and ask. I have heard of some people having issues with either of those meds. So be on the safe side and call the doc. Hugs!

Hi,

I don't know if there is an issue with either of them but what I can say is do not be alarmed by the fact that the 'UK'pentasa is in tablet form :-)   Being in tablet form as opposed to capsule form shouldn't make any difference

Hi I talked to doc and 1) She told the tabs are no good. The capsules are designed to get to the small bowel and that is my issue. So now I am trying to return about $800 worth of pills and am trying to get the new ones quick. Actually, although it is a pain I am sort of happy. I am taking all these drugs, doing SCD and I am not doing nearly as well as I would like. Potentially I now know why. Good! 2) Doc told me to reduce dosage of Pred to 20mgs and if no improvement see her on Monday. It seems really weird to me. I can still barely walk from the pain in my shins. Anyways, Pred does not seem to helping me much (or at all) so less is better from my perspective. I can hardly wait to start sleeping past 3:00 AM again. Thanks for your good thoughts David
