Friday/Saturday went well in the end. Drove to my brother's, managed to play with my nephews and had a nice time with them. The only low point was Saturday night, where I had to share a bed with my mum and could not sleep for love or money. Sheer exhaustion got me through for a while, but by 5am I would've climbed walls if I could've. Managed to snatch about 2-3 hours sleep between 6 and 9am. Luckily I was all right for driving home, but unfortunately the younger boy came back with us and the fete that we were going to take him to turned out to have been on last Saturday. Oops.
Anyway, I was so exhausted I slept for 9-and-a-half hours last night - a lot for a rather poor sleeper like me. Okay, let me think...
TLCs for Sunday:
* Text ex-driving instructor (didn't do this >_<) Have to decide whether I want to do a motorway lesson with him or not, which is why I keep putting the text off
* Drive to a local farm shop to see if they have any eggs (from farm-reared, impeccably organic, chickens)
* Sit outside in the garden and make the most of the hot weather, instead of being cloistered away in my bedroom
* Try to really lose myself in an activity for at least one hour, eg reading or maybe garden work - depends
* Watch England vs Germany game (and see England lose; I'm a realist :-/)
* Get to bed by 3am latest, even if I think I have no chance of falling asleep
I consider the last and 3rd from the last to be by far and away the most important on that list. They relate to two things I have been having a dreadful struggle with for years; focus and a decent bedtime schedule. I could go into a lot more detail but I won't bore you all with it. Gotta go.
