Mull, as a skincare therapist, I deal with this all the time! It can be so frustrating for my clients, but there is something you can try!
While there isn't an "over night" cure, I would suggest finding a good esthetician in your area that can offer you red LED light therapy. The light therapy helps to reduce inflammation and can help reduce the symptoms you're having. Some spas offer this service with a facial or alone, although I would recommend your first session with a calming facial as well. We charge an average of $75 for facials and $20-30 for light therapy. It takes about 30 minutes and a series of these sessions can really help you!
If the redness still isn't going down, have you tried a mineral makeup, such as bare escentuals or glo minerals? Mineral makeup is all natural and literally "takes the red out". I would definitely try it, it will change your life!!!!!
