Overdue introduction

I apologize for not having introduced myself last Sept when I started posting here. I was unaware of the protocol.
I have been reading the Crohn's Disease postings since I was hospitalized last Sept. with an abscess that had formed in the intestine and worked its way out to just below my skin. GI kept telling me that there wasn't any relationship between the uc and the abscess. Colorectal surgeon strongly disagreed and got quite angry with the GI. Surgeon said it was a fistula he was able to close up. GI still has my medical records stating it was an abscess. I didn't understand what was going on--four shots of morphine an hour does that to me. After the surgery, I started reading about fistulas and abscesses here. The information and support I received was extremely helpful. I was also comforted by the people here who had the same symptom and worries.

Thank you very much for asking. Yes, I do have a new GI recommended by both the colorectal surgeon and my pcp. It feels like the recovery is slower than ever before but it could just be my imagination. Gi wants to put me on azathioprine after I am off prednisone. Just had a baseline prometheus test and a tb test in case he wants to do a combo treatment with Remicaide.
I like your personal quote. This week I've been doing research on changing a section of the garden to be only a scent garden of flowers, shrubs and trees. Flowers always cheer me up.
