Ensure... for the rest of us

It's actually lactose-free (with the possible exception of a chocolate malt flavor in some markets). I think it says something like a "clinically nil lactose" on the bottle, but it is definitely fine for people with lactose intolerance. Those who are allergic to milk protein (different from lactose intolerance) would need to choose a semi-elemental or elemental formula instead, but milk protein allergy is pretty rare in adults. what about those lactaid pills too if you wanted to eat/drink things with lactose? ensure should be fine for you though...

My GI is actually a fan of Carnation Instant Breakfast. Since I am lactose intolerant I mix it with Lactaid milk. Whatever, if any, milk product is in it doesn't seem to bother me, and it tastes a heck of a lot better than Ensure. I still do Ensure some times too though.

For some reason I can't handle ensure or similar brands. I get extremely gassy and don't feel well. I can eat dairy all day long, but not those drinks. I may try the instant breakfast to see if I can handle that instead.
