Blood in toilet and on TP

Hi all,

Ever since my surgeries my CD has migrated to my colon as well hence why I only have 1/4 of it now...The portion of my ilium I have left is also affected.  I notice when I have blood in my BM it is red which typically means colon or hemmies...being my pain is where my anastamosis (sp?) is could that be why it is red?  Also I have no external hemmies that I am aware of but I do have the dreaded skin tags (something I never dealt with prior to my darn surgeries).  When I tend to pass blood in my stool I will at times not only see spotting of blood on the TP but also at times clots...Might this signal my blood is from an internal hemmie instead?

It could be internal hemmies but the only way to know for sure is to go see your GI and get it checked out. Any loss of blood should be investigated and perhaps it can be treated very easily. I used to bleed all the time with my crohns but I had lots of rectal disease as well. Sorry I cant offer you more help. I see you have had a temp ileostomy before, did they take out all of your large bowel? I have a permanent ileostomy and proctocolectomy done and have felt better since. Hope you get your answers soon, but definately get off to your GI soon.

I see my PA tomorrow but dont get to see my GI until the 23rd of August I am going to ask my PA tomorrow for some labwork check my iron levels vitamin levels etc since I am even more tired this past week since I have done my B12 shat which is kind of odd for me. Started up on iron again but that may be troublesome since it causes me pain when I use the iron my GI back east told me try crushing the iron pill up and mixing it with applesauce so I did that this am and can tell from the color of my stool it is doing something (darker than norm). I still have D when on iron just have more pain and cramping with iron so I tend not to use it. May have to inquire about the Rx iron my old GI told me about that is easier on the gut or maybe even the IV iron.
