Lyme Disease

Hi all,
I have a few different problems. I have Chron's (had a bowel resection), a history of Atrial fibrillation that I'm on maintenance meds for, Arthritis, and now I have just been diagnosed with Lyme Disease which I have been tested for many times over the years an came back negative. My question is can it be possible to be tested for Lyme and sometimes be neg and others positive? Another words does the infection go into a type of remission were it can't be detected and then show it self weeks months or years later?
If anyone knows anything about this or has had an experience like this could you please let me know, because it may answer a lot of questions and problems I have had for a very long time.
