After my  last round of pred i started having really thin stool and not very much. Told gi doc who did colonscpy and upper gi which he says looked great. He says maybe my meds but I'm only on imuran and 9mg og buesonide which i have been on for last two years. I went for camera encoscoply thursday Gi doc

there ask if my doc checked for blockage in other parts of intestines. anybody else have stool problems really thin like pencil almost constipated i guess never had this problem before always  d before???

I've had very narrow stools as well. Not to be gross but, I describe them as lots of little worm shaped bm's. I was just diagnosed with Crohns and will have my first follow up appointment with the GI dr on Thurs. I hope to learn exactly what he saw during the colonoscopy. I want to know if there is a reason for these thin shaped bm's. I'll let you know!

I've been put on entocort and had to stop today after severe migraine last night and terrible diarreah! Only on it for 3 days and I was a mess! Don't know if that's common with entocort???

I get that on occasion too, and I really don't think its anything to be concerned about. Unless...you are having alot of anal issues with your Crohns.

Thanks for sharing your experiences this diease is very confussing its nice to be able to talk to somebody

who knows what you go though. let me know what your doc says

Steroids can cause constipation. Thin stools are sometimes a part and parcel of having bowel issues; even people with IBS can have them as a symptom. If a colonoscopy has ruled out strictures or polyps in the colon as a cause, then I don't think they're anything to worry about. In the very rare times when I don't have diarrhoea, my stools are thin - not quite pencil thin but far thinner than anything pre-Crohn's.
