Pain post scope

I am having quite a bit of pain since my prep for the colonoscopy.  Any thoughts as to why this might be? I have 2 or 3 bms after my test yesterday too and like always it is D.  I  am also still way drained from the test is this normal

VERY normal. I am usually down for about 2-3 days afterwards. Pain and crampy from the air inserted and the test itself, and poopy for a few because of the prep. And the fatigue also very normal. Good luck!

Just had one myself on Thursday and for some reason it is taking me longer this time to come right.

Lots of crampy pain and bloating plus very very tired.

hope you start to feel better soon :)

Thanks you too I am still extra tired and when I am eating the gas pains are horrible...and also to add the internal hemmie just doesnt want to stop bleeding I have the urge to have a bm only to have it be pure red blood from what I can only assume is that

And have you contacted the endoscopy center or your gastro who did the scope about all this? "I" do NOT think that this is normal and/or usual after a scope. Are you running a fever?

Either the doctor who did the scope was less than skilled, less than conscientious about removing all the insuflated air, OR something has gone wrong or went wrong during the scope.

Contact the doctor. Don't wait until Monday. Contact him NOW or go to ER. I'm quite serious about this, DragonFly. IF you can't get thru to the doctor go to ER. Do NOT wait until Monday.

It has been FOUR days since your scope. Something is NOT right!!!!

I did call the GI he said take a pain pill...he didnt do any biopsies and I do not have a fever I called his office thursday since he isnt in on Fridays

I had a colonoscopy last month and experienced rather severe pain starting the same day. I had never experienced anything like this with my other colonoscopies.  My GI wasn't concerned since he felt it was a rather easy scope and didn't have any reason to feel that anything went wrong.  He felt it was probably just a result of the chrohns getting irritated.  He advised me to take bentyl  regularly and see if that helps. However, I was really freaked out,  because the pain I felt was the same as before I had my last resection two years ago.

Luckily after a few days (and with the help of a few percocets) the pain went away.

Now I just have my "normal" chrohns discomfort.

I've always had a little pain and discomfort the next day, but never too bad.

I always have issues after my scopes, so I do respectfully disagree with CrohnieToo. First off your bowels are irritated from the prep, then they blow air up there and then them shoving that dang hose up there. I ALWAYS have to plan my scopes on a Thursday or Friday, so that I can have a few days to get passed all the crap the prep and test do to me. I would venture to guess that you are starting to feel some relief now. Good luck!
