Brief recap--Crohns in the Ileum for 20 years.  First resection 6/09, second resection 4/10.  Was taking Imuran 100mg, synthroid, zoloft, and now b12 injections.  I stopped taking the Imuran for two weeks (per GI) because I was feeling really fatigued and flu-like constantly, plus still having diarrhea 8+ times per day.  I've been off the Imuran for 10 days now.  My stools are better-sometimes even formed and more like 2-6 times per day.  However, my joints are the worst they have ever been.  Also, I have a constant sore throat. (had the sore throat on the Imuran too)  The last 2-3 days I've been experiencing intermittant nausea again, but haven't actually thrown up. 

I'm wondering about this Crohns in the Esophagus, because of my constant sore throat.  Could you please let me know what your symptoms have been if you have Crohn's of the Esophagus?

I think you'll know it if you definitely develop it: imagine large ulcers in your throat, making it hard and extremely painful to swallow, or even talk, depending on where they are.

That said, I find that a sore throat *can* be a precursor to ulcers, so you might like to be watchful and keep in touch with your doctor.

However, given your other symptoms, my guess would be that maybe you have some other medical issue going on, on top of your Crohn's. Infection maybe? Other illness developing? Drug reaction?

Has your doctor ordered any tests to help diagnose the problem?

crohns developing in your throat, makes you feel someone has their knee at your throat and their other one on your stomach (aligning along your sternum) and are pressing down with all their body weight for me.

Another thing to think about with the sore throat is acid reflex and your thyriod issue?

Hi there, I also have Crohsn in the eosophagus along with large and small intestine.  The main symptoms for me are recurring acid reflux, and the feeling that things would get stuck in my throat while eating - especially things like bread etc, it would be really painful as stuff would pass down my throat.  Those are the things I can see relate specifically to that area of my boady that has Crohns, I also have the other symptoms that we get for the intestinal crohns like D, bleeding, abdo pain, joint issues etc
