Well I am home after my resection for strictures with a 25cm wound to remember the occasion by. The bowel had stuck to the pelvic wall and my surgeon had to make a larger cut but the good news is that the strictures were close enough together to get them all out and all the Crohns he could see (about 30cm of bowel). I am feeling fairly tired at them moment (had op 10 days ago) but am pottering about at home, making cups of tea, simple meals with help etc. Big problem is trapped gas, I never knew it could be as painful as it is and the pain just before a bowel movement, which is still very explosive and unpredictable. Early days yet but I have felt a bit depressed this morning, probably lack of sleep due to wind pain. I have got peppermint oil to try to help with the gas but no success so far, if anyone has any other remidies or hints that would help I would welcome them. I am walking around as much as possible (its raining today so I probably won't get out) and drinking lots. I think I am expecting too much too soon and having trouble not being able to have the energy to do ordinary day to day things. Sorry for moan, advice from anyone who has been through this would be very welcome.
