LOL, it's true the SCD diet is very restrictive. It's a whole new way of shopping and eating. But does get easier with practise. The best thing about
it is that it gets rid of the junk and processed foods in the typical Western diet. And replaces them with healthy stuff - most fresh or frozen vegies, fresh or frozen fruits, homemade yogurt, aged cheese, honey, nuts, meats, poultry...
If you ever decide to try it, it's best to read the book, first, called "Breaking the Vicious Cycle" to make sure you understand the basis of the diet and what is and isn't allowed. If you look up the book on Amazon, you'll probably see a slew of testimonials.
Even the author of the diet said it didn't work for everybody - you could give it a few weeks and quit if you don't see good results. If you checked the web site, you might have seen the introductory version of the diet, which is supposed to last for a few days before you start eating the other foods allowed on the diet. It is here: http://www.breakingtheviciouscycle.info/beginners_guide/the_intro_diet2.htm
It's just another option that can be tried. When my daughter was first diagnosed, I wish we had been told about the diet.
